Silver Air Max Light. Cool I think I will get for the summer.

The classic Nike running shoe, the Air Max Light, has hit retailers in this new silver and white colorway. The last pair we saw in this silhouette used a White/Obsidian/Grey-Bluecolor-up, but this one keeps things more monotone.

A textured leather is used throughout, including the white mudguard, and shiny silver midfoot panel. Grey weave in a matte finish is used on the toe, tongue and heel areas as well. A dark grey liner contrasts the white midsole, completing the colorway.

LOL PoPo you gotta be on your Job these days... and where did the inmates get a camera??? LOL

Maybe the inmates really are running the asylum.

A correction officer has been disciplined for dozing on the job after a colleague snapped a picture of her asleep while on post at a
Rikers Island infirmary, officials said yesterday.

A clearly conked-out
Nadja Green is leaning in a chair with her head back, arms folded, eyes closed and mouth open.

But even more alarming is an amused inmate seen hovering above her, mere inches from a set of keys that hangs from her belt.

The picture was circulated around the department, and a source e-mailed it to
The Post.

Green was transferred on the island and placed on modified duty watching female inmates. She will face charges of sleeping on the job and other security- and performance-related charges.

"
We do not expect this type of behavior or performance from our officers, nor do we tolerate it," said city correction spokesman Steve Morello.

The officer who took the picture,
Claudel Barrau, was also transferred and placed on modified duty.

Morello said possession and use of cellphones in jails, even by guards, is prohibited.

"They are only allowed to carry a cell into a property locker and not into jail proper," Morello said. "And not where inmates circulate. It's a basic and obvious regulation and this represents a breach."

Officials said the embarrassing photo was taken earlier this month in the prison's
North Infirmary Command, formerlyRikers Island Hospital, which houses nearly 400 sick prisoners.

The facility includes a wing for
AIDS patients, one for sex offenders and one for exceptionally violent inmates.
The disciplined officers will not be supervising inmates, according to officials.

Morello said the picture was brought to the attention of the department's senior management.

He said officials do not believe the sleeping officer was ever in any danger. There will be no charges against the inmate in the picture.

Green, who turned 30 yesterday, has been on the job 4½ years. She lives in
Queens and could not be reached for comment.

Barrau, 47, has been on the job 18 years. When approached by a Post photographer at his
Long Island home, he asked, "Why are you taking my picture?"

A prison source described Green as "
the Precious of Corrections," a reference to the movie about a teen from a dysfunctional family.

A source said Green had a difficult upbringing and is the mother of several children. The source said she worked 96 hours of overtime this month.

A union official said prison authorities should avoid a rush to judgment.

"Many correction officers are forced to work 70 to 80 hours of mandatory overtime," said
Correction Officer Benevolent Association spokesman Michael Skelly.

"Since we don't know the particular circumstances of that particular officer, we are not going to condemn her. She may have been sick.

"We believe it was highly suspect for the other officer to take a picture and potentially jeopardize her safety."

Kid Cudi Says Stop the Bull Sh*t

Kid Cudi has never been a rapper that finds it necessary to bring down another rapper in order to promote himself. He is, however, a man that apparently believes in respect and will immediately shut down those that choose to not show him such courtesy.

During a show at the
House Of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the Man on the Moon spoke on his recent activity involving the assault on a fan that resulted in him being ejected from Lady Gaga's tour.

The media has found many different angles and spins to place on the incident so Cudi has found no other alternative but to provide a little clarity and defend himself.

"
They trying to make me look like the poster boy for violence and ignorance," Cudi said. "I tell motherf*ckers I'm the poster boy for honesty, realness, anarchy, I don't give a f*ck about this business."

Almost like a punching bag, the young rapper has been placed under the microscope and beaten by many, being judged for his preference and methods in showcasing his material his own distinct way.

What started as a response turned quickly into his own uproar as the rapper proceeded to provide further commentary on the music industry and how his own experiences have forever changed his perceptions on particular artists.

"
I'm the truest motherf*cker in this business and people trying to destroy me. All these other n*ggas that y'all probably fans of is sucker a** n*ggas, I met them. N*ggas I was a fan of when I was buying their CDs, I'm not a fan of they music no more. This business is WWF fam and if you don't comply, they try to destroy you...I never talk sh*t, I came to this game, just wanted to smoke my weed and motherf*ckers just wanna destroy me, I don't give a f*ck. I'm unstoppable."

Lamborghini Concept... ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW

By designer Slavche Tanevsky.

Text via automotto:

According to the designer, the Ankonian takes the design of the Reventon to the next level, even though the concept itself manages a unique expression. The supercar concept has a more aggressive design, and is downsized to account for a more environment-friendly status, though it does not include any hybrid or similar technologies.

The mid-engined supercar has a narrow and rather complex-looking body, with a garnishing of GT proportions. Thin OLEDs embedded between the surfaces function as headlights, and while all those lines may look weird, the Ankonian supposedly makes the best use of it all. The concept was named after a bull type famous for black hair, and since the designer had some help from professional designers at Lamborghini and Audi, the finished model has impressive looks.

The Top 9 Of 09.... By Nicekicks.com

2009 was definitely a great year to be a sneaker lover! Not only were the majority of the sneaker releases exceptional (”Space Jam”, Air Yeezy, etc.) but sneaker-related stories undoubtedly dominated 2009 (Marcus Jordan, DJ AM).
With that said, our staff compiled a list of sneaker stories that remained at the forefront of sneaker enthusiasts’ minds throughout the year. There were many more than nine stories; however, staying with the theme of the year, we narrowed it down to this specific number.
Hit the jump to view the Top 9 Sneaker Stories of ‘09.

The Recession Hits The Sneaker Heads.

2009 was a tough year for a much of America. The national recession put stress and strain on pocketbooks everywhere, meaning that hobby expenses had to be cut back. For many of you, that meant your love for sneakers had to take a backseat to more dire necessities. While lower incomes and tougher times have proved to be at least an inconvenience or worse for many people, many of us overlook the troubles that the stores we buy our shoes from have faced.
Looking back on 2009 in terms of sneakers, many things come to mind. High-tops were big, Jordan Brand made sure we knew MJ was being inducted into the Hall, and many other trends came and went. One trend many of us never considered though, was an economic one. So to look into the year in a fiscal sense, we look now at spending trends and receive insight from a boutique owner in a struggling local economy.
The one positive side of the recession is that if you do have money to spend, you had options and many of those shoes were on sale, as retailers wanted to make sure to unload product. On the contrary, that means that boutiques and resellers have had an even harder time choosing which products to put on their
shelves.
This situation has made for an opportunity for sneakers that many thought would not be so successful to do just that–succeed. One silhouette that Jeff Brown, owner of Suite 160 in
Las Vegas, has found sold very well was the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski. “Blazers and Janoskis,” says Jeff, “are selling much better than say, $140 Jordans, where in the last couple years, people didn’t really care if something was over $100 dollars. They would buy it.”
Jeff and other owners have found themselves buying some products based on their price, rather than the more expensive sneakers that sell out in a healthy economy. The Nike Air Max 95 was specifically mentioned, as it released in a number of colors in 2009. “If someone already has a few of those in different colors, they’d pass on the other ones. I mean, they’re $140,” said Brown.
This trend is pretty easy to believe, as many collectors pride themselves on the diversity in their
closet. For many sneakerheads, whether avid or casual, the ultimate consideration comes down to whether it’s worth it to own two of the same shoes in slightly different colors or two (or more) completely different shoes.
Just as interesting to consider is the way stores are reacting to our preferences for price. Jeff is an a very unique situation, as the two locations he owns are in vastly different areas. The flagship store is in West Vegas, far from tourist attractions, and caters to educated local consumers. The second is in the
Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, where flashier and unique shoes sell and the average consumer comes from foot traffic, which is “down about 40%,” according to Jeff.
It seems many retailers, and the brands they put on their shelves, spent the last year reconsidering the products they produce, carry and can sell. Obviously trends come and go, but the down economy had a lasting effect on our consumer-driven segment. The outlook for 2010 offers more hope than the last year did, and hopefully predictions will materialize. With the end of the year approaching in a matter of hours, how will you remember the last 12 months? Will you measure your shoe year in the ones you passed on, or the ones you justified splurging on?
