Kanye West: - Coldest Winter

KANYE WEST "Coldest Winter" Directed by: NABIL "ITUNES link below" from nabil elderkin on Vimeo.

VIDEO AVAILABLE ON ITUNES: http://itunes.apple.com/us/video/coldest-winter/id355707021

Artist: Kanye West
Song: Coldest Winter
Director: NABIL
Label: Island/ Def jam
Producer: Kathleen Heffernan
DP: Josh Reis
Editor: DJ Sing
CG post: Baked FX lead artist: Kyle Belko
After Effects: Gustavo & Clara
Production Co: Partizan

Acclaimed director Nabil Elderkin helmed the visual for one of Kanye West’s most personal records “Coldest Winter” off of his 2008 effort “808s & Heartbreak”. According to Elderkin the visual has been of his greatest challenges so far since the right visual medium had to be chosen without Kanye who did not partake in the editing process. For his general approach to the concept Elderkin also had to take the artist’s emotional background into account:

“It’s pretty minimalistic. It’s slow and very visual. I just wanted to catch the vibe of the song and not get too literal. Because the lyrics are very close to Kanye and go much deeper than the video goes, obviously hearing the song you know it’s very emotional.”

‘Ye approved the result and even unleashed a revamped version of the track to accompany the “haunting” visual. Check it out.

Common – The People (prod. Kanye West) [Original Version]

Here’s another track from the Finding Forever sessions, where it’s actually Common singing the hook rather than Dwele. Props to Marty for these great finds.

B.o.B. feat Asher Roth – Fuck the Money (Produced by Kanye West)

One of the highlighted singles off B.o.B.’s latest mixtape is this record featuring himself and Asher Roth over some dope production by Kanyeezy. Entitled Fuck the Money, the track serves as a testament to some of the questionable practices of the music industry that surprise artists all too often. B.o.B’s May 25th Mixtape is titled after the date his debut album releases later this year. In the mean time check out the single below and download the full mixtape here.

Yes thats what Im talkn about Ye, thats my niggy.

January 06, 2010. MediaTakeOut.com just got its hands on a very INTERESTING piece of information. One of our readers, who works SECURITY for a popular Miami hotel tells us that last week Kanye West and Amber Rose were discreetly staying there.

And according to our snitch, rapper Nicki Minaj came to visit them. And he tells us that Nicki went up stairs and "she didn't leave for a while, I ended my shift before she left."

Hmmmm . . . wonder what could have been going on . . .

Mr. West got a new song.

Making it’s first debut on Killer Mike’s Follow The Leaders mixtape, this latest record from Kanye is now refined without a DJ voiceover. A lot being said through the lyrics if you listen close, no autotune just straight lyricism. It’s also set to make a tentative feature on Diddy’s upcoming album Last Train to Paris. Check it out.

Kanye x Karmaswap

In celebration of Karmaloop’s brand new auction site KarmaSwap, the ‘loop has teamed up with superstar Kanye West to auction off a plethora of signed memorabilia, notably including a pair of Air Yeezys signed by Kanye himself. Further auctions will include signed “Glow In the Dark” books, “Thank You” books and T-shirts. 100% of the proceeds raised will go to the Kanye West Foundation, a charity helping combat the severe dropout problem in schools across the US. KarmaSwap itself will feature two distinct sections: KarmaSwap Resellers, where individual sellers can re-sell items such as sneakers and used clothing, and KarmaSwap Stores, where underground brands and designers can sell their original creations.
