While yo-yo’s had their time and the Bulls reigned for most of the decade, one thing was constant: amazing college basketball. The 1990’s saw the Carolina-Duke rivalry in its prime, the rise of the Big East, and the birth of some of today’s biggest stars.

Sneaker heads also recognize the 90’s as the “Golden Age” of basketball kicks as sneakers such as the Air Jordan 11, the Foamposite One, and the Question surfaced.

Given a vintage treatment, the AJKO makes its long-awaited return this month as the classic canvas interpretation of Nike’s Air Jordan 1 finally sees a retro release. One of the franchise’s most coveted designs for the past couple of decades, the kicks maintain a distinct aura with only 5000 pairs rumored to have hit production. Both a white/red and classic Chicago Bulls colorway is featured, each seeing an official release on Saturday, March 27th (11am) via Primitive.

We learned of two big rumors this past week in regards to upcoming Jordan releases. One of them involved a potentialAir Jordan 6 Retro “Infrared” Pack. Would this be one of the better sneaker packs ever if it released this summer?

In addition to the Air Jordan 6 Retro “Infrared” Pack rumor, new surfaced about two possible Air Jordan 13 Retro releases during this upcoming holiday season.

This weekend, Mexico retailer Shelter released some of the “Silver Anniversary” Air Jordans. Surprisingly, the “Silver Anniversary” Air Jordan 11 Retro was included. Does this foreshadow a stateside “Silver Anniversary” Air Jordan 11 Retro release some time soon?

The latest Air Jordan Spiz’ike to make an online debut is that of the Black/Varsity Red-Stealthcolorway. This make-up is quite lustrous as most of its upper is black patent leather. On the toe and heel are hits of laser engraved black leather. Red accenting tinges the Jumpman, Mars logo, and lace cinch and then saturates the lining. A repeating linear print marks the red lining. The print reads “Yes Mars” and is interspersed with Mars’ signature glasses.

It’s been a while since we have seen anything released for the younger sneaker head generation and today we have a new Air Jordan VI GS. These feature a white/rainbow colorway with white featured on the upper and a rainbow colored midsole. Some of the colors that can be seen on the midsole are pink flash, volt and marine blue. Leather is used on this pair and these will be a GS only release. These are currently available overseas but if you want to wait they will be hitting US retailers soon.

Oreo VI's

Arguably one of the better Air Jordan releases in sometime, the VI sees a new colorway, appropriately dubbed the “Oreo.” The kicks take on a mostly white base with clear outsole detailing, black nubuck paneling, and splatter accents. A release is set for Saturday, March 20th via Jordan retail accounts, including Rugged Sole.

When news first broke about the release of the “AJKO” in White/Varsity Red-Black, older enthusiasts were more than pleased to learn about their opportunity to grab a pair of canvasAir Jordan 1s. The next colorway in the series utilizes more simple color blocking, but still possesses the same vintage aesthetic.

White canvas is used for the uppers, including the panel trim. Like the midsole, this material has been yellowed to appear as though the shoes have been worn a good deal. Red leather is in place along the quarter panel for the Swoosh, and matching accents appear elsewhere. Does the AJKO have you feeling nostalgic?

Away Laker VI's These is cool to rock with

Not only does the Air Jordan Spizike return this year, but the Air Jordan 6 also returns in 2010. The release of the Doernbecher Air Jordan 6 was just a taste of what’s to come from the Air Jordan 6 line.
Jordan Brand kicked the year off by releasing the black/varsity red Air Jordan 6. Jordan heads will have a chance to get the white/black Jordan 6 next month. Come April 17th, the Air Jordan 6 will release in the Detroit Pistons colorway, and we’re assuming the Lakers inspired Jordan 6 will release in May or June.

New Spizike Colorway.

About a week ago, a lot of you made your way to your nearest Jordan Brand retailers and purchased what may be one of the better Spizike release in a long time. We now have photos of another upcomingJordan Spizike that will undoubtedly turn some heads due to its erratic colorway.

The most eye-popping attributes on this shoe is the various infrared sections on the upper, namely the midsole. Another interesting feature is the white elephant print sections seen on the heel and toe area. Look for this particular Spizike to hit retailers in May of 2010. The latest in-line colorway of the Air Jordan 2010 readies itself for a release across the world with a Black/University Blue colorway seen here. The Air Jordan 2010’s defining element of design by most accounts is the clear “eye” seen in the mid part of the upper as it combines with patent leather and translucent University Blue outsole. With availability hitting Kasina, we expect a global launch right around the corner.

Just when we thought that we had reported on every pair of the Air Jordan Spizikes, Jordan pops up with another colorway, and a great one at that. For those nay sayers who are wondering if these are fakes, these shoes were on MJ’s feet at Flight School. The shoe looks to be another great shoe in the “Cool Grey” series of Air Jordans that includes the legendary Jordan 11, Jordan 3,Jordan 4, and Jordan 9.
