Asics Aqua Color Way.

Ronnie Fieg has a proven history of creatingclean collaborations. For instance, he played a large role on the Nice Kicks x Asics Gel Lyte IIIlast Fall that sold out in minutes. One might think we wouldn’t have heard his name again until the reveal of the “Super Reds,” but today he gave us a look at these special Asics GT-IIs.

Premium aqua nubuck covers the majority of the upper, while matching mesh appears on the toe box, collar and on the quarter panels. To help give contrast, a white leather underlay can be found behind the arch design on the sides. For further contrast, a grey outsole, liner and laces were implemented. This pair has unfortunately been left at the sample stage, but if you’re after these samples, follow Ronnie on Twitter and tweet the phrase “Follow @Ronniefieg to win a 1 of 1 exclusive Asics GT-II Sample set.” He’ll choose a follower to give these to on the 17th.

Spring Time Fresh

In January, we alerted you to two GT-II colorways that Asics had in the works for a spring release. We are now able to inform you that they have begun to surface at retailers. Each color-up is bright-one is orange and the other purple. Mesh and nubuck are interspersed with one another to cover the uppers. Lastly, each shoe sports crazy color blocking on the bottom of the outsole.

Flip the post for plenty of pictures of each shoe and head to Hanon or other Asics accounts to grab either pair.

Cultureshoq x Asics Gel Lyte III 1of 1 Auction

An integral part of the Trilogy pack which was unveiled last year, Ronnie Fieg is auctioning off the following Cultureshoq x ASICS GEL LYTE III 1 of 1 unreleased sample to help the Haiti relief efforts. 100% of all proceeds from the eBay Auction will be presented to Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation. The auction runs from now until January 19th, 2010.

Sneaker Con in NY.

Over the weekend, NY area heads flocked to a SoHo gym for the buy, sell, trade show, Sneaker Con. More than 20 vendors set up shop for the seven hour show on Saturday while hundreds of attendees came inside the show for the action. A number of media outlets covered the event including the New York Post who just posted a video recapping the event.

Asics’ Directional Level line is comparable to Nike’s QS approach, dropping in limited colorways, material selections and quantities.
Earlier this month we showed you the mita x Asics Gel-Lyte Speed, and most of you liked it. While this round of limited releases doesn’t involve collaborations, it looks like the four-month run has some great designs in store. Starting in September, two pairs will drop–a Gel-Lyte Speed and GT II. Each month until December, a new colorway or two of varying models will release.

Gel Lyte Speed "Surface Pack"

Just a few hours ago we saw 2 new Asics releases for this Holiday season. The Gel Lyte III won’t be the only shoe to drop though, as theGel Lyte Speed “Surface Pack” is also set to release.

Drawing inspiration from things runners encounter, one pair takes the natural approach while the other represents the street. The grey pair draws from concrete paths, while a road sign look is used on the midsole. second pair uses a completely green upper, while “mud splatters” are used on the midsole and laces.
